First, the story; you have done this very well indeed, the way you have mixed the ongoing story with interjections of the stories of the past is excellent. The title is very appropriate, as you can see the thread of ancestry throughout the book, and it certainly gives the old but fascinating bible stories a new and interesting feel. It's a very good approach to getting more people to become aware of the bible stories, as this makes it easier to read, and for many people, reading it in a novel is preferable to reading it in the traditional bible format. You can tell the book is a work of love and time, the dedication and research put into it shines through; you should feel justifiably proud of your book.
